Sep 7, 2025 · Newington Public SchoolOpen House / NSS MeetingOpen House and Newington School Supporters (NSS) meeting will take place tomorrow evening, Monday, September 8, at 6:30 PM at Newington Public School.
Here’s the plan for the evening:
We’ll begin with a brief tour of the building, giving parents a chance to see each classroom.
After the tour, we’ll gather in the gym, where I’ll share key information about instruction, policies, and happenings at NPS.
Finally, we’ll close with a conversation about the Newington School Supporters and the many ways families can be active members of our learning community.
My goal is to keep the entire program under an hour, providing families with an efficient and informative overview of our school year ahead.
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow evening!

Oct 24, 2024 · Newington Public SchoolDonations for Hurricane ReliefWe are excited to announce a social project that we will be working on over the next few days in conjunction with the Newington Police Department and the Newington Fire Department. We are so fortunate to live in Newington, a community with many resources and the ability to help other communities in need. We hope that, through donating and education, this project will help make students aware of what happens beyond Newington and how we can help others in need. Chief Bilodeau of the Newington Police Department will be traveling to North Carolina to assist those affected by the recent hurricane. He is kindly asking for donations of essential items to support families in need. Because homes were destroyed, a lot of families were forced to stay out in the cold in camping-type situations.
If you would like to contribute, please bring your donations to the school by Friday of this week. You may send them in with your student or leave them in the front vestibule between the hours of 7:30a and 5:30p.
Below is a list of suggested items:
- Cold weather gear (jackets, socks, gloves/mittens for kids and adults)
- Tarps
- Rope
- Batteries
- Flashlights/headlamps/lanterns
- Sleeping bags (rated for 30 below)
- Blankets
- Winter jackets (new or gently used—used items should be cleaned)
- Hand/feet warmers
- Winter hats
- Emergency blankets
- Camping necessities
- Small propane bottles
Your generosity and support is greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping to make a difference for those in need.
